Los Emmy anuncian sus nominaciones más diversas

Emmy 2020

La Academia de la Televisión de Estados Unidos anunció este martes desde Los Ángeles sus candidatos para la 72° edición de los Emmy, cuya gala de entrega sigue programada para el 20 de septiembre en un formato que ni el propio anfitrión, Jimmy Kimmel, sabe cómo se adaptará a los tiempos de pandemia de coronavirus.

Todavía no está claro cómo y en qué formato se entregarán los galardones, ya sea en una ceremonia virtual o con distancia social entre los invitados.

La miniserie de HBO “Watchmen” lideró con 26 las nominaciones a los Emmy por delante de “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” de Amazon, que logró 20 nominaciones, y de “Ozark” y “Succession”, que se anotaron cada una 18 candidaturas.

La serie “The Mandalorian”, protagonizada por el chileno Pedro Pascal, cerró con 15, en las primeras nominaciones para la plataforma Disney+. En tanto, Apple TV+, también debutante, cosechó 18 candidaturas, incluida una por su drama “The Morning Show” con Steve Carrell y Jennifer Aniston, también nominados.

Netflix marca su liderazgo en los próximos Emmy, que serán transmitidos en vivo por TNT. La plataforma de streaming fue la más nominada, superando fácilmente a HBO con 160 nominaciones en total frente a 107 de su gran rival.

“The Handmaid”s Tale”, “The Crown”, “Killing Eve”, “The Mandalorian”, “Better Call Saul”, “Ozark”, “Stranger Things” y “Sucession” se verán las caras por el Emmy a la mejor serie dramática.
